The Cultural Chair shall have the duty to coordinate and organize any activities
and workshops in order to educate and promote Pilipino culture/awareness to both the
organization’s members and the community. The Cultural Chair will also coordinate activities
and events for Pilipino-American History Month during the Fall semester, such as the annual
“MaBOOhay” Talent Showcase. During the Spring Semester, they are to coordinate any requests regarding the Cultural Dance Troupe.
Ma"BOO"hay is the annual talent showcase and charity event hosted in October in honor of Pilipino-American Hxstory Month in October. The word “mabuhay” in Tagalog is an expression used in welcoming and showing hospitality. The "BOO" in Ma"BOO"hay was put in there originally as a Halloween pun, and we decided to stick with it. The Ma"BOO"hay Talent Showcase has also been a terrific outlet for up-and-coming artists to hone their talents in front of a large audience. Some past headliners include Drop N' Harmony, A.J. Rafael, a collaborative performance featuring Gabe Bondoc, Leejay Abucayan, and Jeremy "Passion" Manongdo, Ramielle Malubay, Kierra Folsom, Jeff Bernat, and Tatiana Manaois.
