WHAT IS PCN?
PCN stands for Pilipinx Cultural Night. It is one of the most culturally enriching experiences that Akbayan has to offer! This is an annual showcase of a student-written play that also portrays the many cultural dances that preserve Pilipinx culture. PCN also showcases the skills and talents of the cast members through Band, Choir, Modern & Contemporary dancing, in addition to the aspects that operate behind the scenes. It is a student-run program which educates others about cultural dancing and the origins and roots of Philippine dance. The very first Akbayan cultural night was held on August 12, 1978. The production was “Portraits of the Pilipino” and was in conjunction with the Pilipinx Community of SCC Pilipinx Week (Sabado).
Akbayan will be showcasing its 38th annual Pilipinx Cultural Night this coming Spring 2026.
